Angel Investors Ontario (AIO), a member of the Ontario Network of Entrepreneurs (ONE), is the Administrator of the Angel Network Program, on behalf of the Government of Ontario. Since 2007, its mission has been to create and grow Angel investor groups for all the regions of Ontario. Growing the membership and spreading best practices of these groups builds a more potent combination of mentorship & capital for innovative, early-stage companies in the province.

For the next Annual General Meeting on December 12th, 2018, we are seeking to appoint one or more new Directors for the Board of Angel Investors Ontario.

Skills and Experience Requirements:

5+ years (minimum) of Canadian experience with respect to three or more of:

  • Marketing or Sponsorship/Fundraising (a preferred skill set)
  • Early-stage growth enterprise development (including entrepreneurship, mentorship, advisory services and business acceleration)
  • Corporate governance
  • Not-for-profit operations
  • Other relevant subjects including:
    • Fund management or General Partner experience
    • Economic development policy
    • Finance & Banking

AIO Board Directors will provide expertise, guidance and advice in matters that advance and support the strategic objectives of Ontario’s Angel investor network.

This is a non-remunerated volunteer position, but with certain expenses reimbursed.

To grow Ontario’s Angel investing ecosystem to build prosperity, create jobs

and strengthen communities.

The expectation is that board directors, including those from outside Toronto, will participate in all board meetings (sometimes by phone, but also in person) and participate on at least one board committee.

We strongly support the diversification of involved personnel and encourage persons of every origin and identity to apply.
