As a member of the Angel Investors Ontario team, you will gain exposure to the unique Angel Investing ecosystem. You will play a role in enabling early stage financing for start-up companies, while also developing and building Ontario’s Angel Investing ecosystem.

Search for Member(s) of the Board of Directors

Angel Investors Ontario (AIO), a member of the Ontario Network of Entrepreneurs (ONE), is the Administrator of the Angel Network Program, on behalf of the Government of Ontario. Since 2007, its mission has been to create and grow Angel investor groups for all the regions of Ontario. Growing the membership and spreading best practices of these groups builds a more potent combination of mentorship & capital for innovative, early-stage companies in the province.

For the next Annual General Meeting on December 14th, 2017, we are seeking to appoint one or more new Directors for the Board of Angel Investors Ontario.

Skills and Experience Requirements:

5+ years (minimum) of Canadian experience with respect to three or more of:

  • Angel investment
  • The practice of law (preferred skill set)
  • Early-stage growth enterprise development (including entrepreneurship, mentorship, advisory services and business acceleration)
  • Corporate governance
  • Government or not-for-profit operations
  • Other relevant subjects including:
    • Sales and marketing
    • Economic development policy
    • Finance & Banking

AIO Board Directors will provide expertise, guidance and advice in matters that advance and support the strategic objectives of the Angel investor network.

This is a non-remunerated volunteer position, but with certain expenses reimbursed.


To grow Ontario’s Angel investing ecosystem to build prosperity, create jobs and strengthen communities.

The expectation is that board directors, including those from outside Toronto, will participate in all board meetings (sometimes by phone, but also in person) and participate on at least one board committee.
